During a routine credit check, I discovered Wells Fargo had opened 3 accounts in my name that I never authorized: a savings account and two credit cards.
These accounts had been accumulating fees for "low balance" and "inactivity" for over a year. When I contacted Wells Fargo, they insisted I must have forgotten opening them.
It took 6 months of fighting, dozens of calls, and filing complaints with the CFPB to get the accounts closed and fees reversed. They still refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing.
My credit report shows multiple inquiries and closed accounts that shouldn't exist. Despite their scandal years ago, they're still pulling the same tricks.
